Hiking Škrcko Lake

National Park Durmitor

In the western part of the Durmitor National Park, surrounded by high rocks, there are two small mountain lakes - Veliko and Malo Škrčko lakes. They are hidden in the inaccessible coves of Durmitor mountains. Škrčka lakes are surrounded by high mountains on three sides - peaks Prutaš, Šareni, Soj and the highest peak in Montenegro - Bobotov kuk.
Plan and program:
Arrival at Todorov Do (1.5km away from Sedlo) by 09:00 AM, where we pack the equipment necessary for this tour and start at 09:30 AM. Start of the hiking tour from a point at an altitude of 1800m. We head over the ridge (Škrčko Ždrijelo), which is at an altitude of 2100m and we descend into the very heart of the National Park Durmitor, where there is a mountain home and Veliko Škrčko lake, at an altitude of 1686m. The altitude difference of 700m reaches up to the passage from which, Škrčko lake, Bobotov Kuk and other peaks higher than 2000m are visible.
