Niksic

Mount Vojnik occupies a space between the Nikšić field, the plateau of Krnovo, Javorak and the Canyon Komarnica. The highest peak is Veliki Vojnik, located at an altitude of 1998m. There are 48 peaks over 1500 m on Mount Vojnik. It is the largest source of oxygen (70%) for the Nikšić munincipality. The mountain dominates the northern part of the Nikšić area and brings sharp winters to the inhabitants of Nikšić, according to which it is especially known (frequent snow covers the plateau of Krnovo).
Plan and program:
Start of the hiking tour is at an altitude of 1200 meters above Jasenovo Polje. We pass by the Štirni Do, a spacious and beautiful hollow below the Vojnik peak - from where the peak can not be seen, and we continue to the top. The altitude difference is 764m. The walking trail is marked its entire length of about 10km. At Mount Vojnik it is also possible to see the forest animals inhabiting the beautiful greenery of this mountain: bears, wild boars, foxes ...
